What is LED Light Therapy?:
Light Emitting Diode Phototherapy (LED) is the application of light energy to skin to create appearance benefits and for pain relief.
Phototherapy is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory benefits and gives your cells the energy that cells need.
How does LED Light Energy, absorbed by cells work to treat skin?
Think of your cells in your skin like a battery charger “that needs re-charging as we age.”
Light Photons are applied to by placing LED light Therapy over face or body for 30 minutes. This is a painless and oddly relaxing process.
The light source emits photons that penetrate the skin as the skin absorbs light into the mitochondria and cell membranes. This enables the skin to effectively elevate ATP synthesis (aka: energy for your cells- ATP declines with age). Increased ATP creates a positive surge of metabolic events that create and result in biochemical and cellular changes.
How are the cells affected?
Fibroblast Cells: (red light and a little IR Light): Produces collagen and Elastin Fibers in connective tissue.
Keratinocytes: (both red light and IR equally). Provides structural strength to the skin, hair, and nails. Responsible for skin clarity, tone, and texture.
Mast cells: (red and near IR). Essential for inflammatory reactions.
Neutrophil cells: (leukocytes): (Little red, mostly IR). Are the first line of defense in the inflammatory process. Adequate numbers are essential to protect the body from infection.
Macrophage Cells: (leukocytes): (red and IR). Play a vital role in activating specific immune responses.
P.acne bacteria: (blue) causes bacteria to destroy itself.

My personal journey with LED Light Therapy:
I will say this flat out: LED light Therapy saved my skin on my skin from scarring. I was in an accident with surface and deeper scrapes across my face and nose. I also had Moh’s surgery with a large chunk as deep as my pinky taken out of my nose: Both times, I followed up with LED lights and quality skincare. I do not doubt that the LED Lights made it so no one can notice these significant wounds now and that I healed much better with the use of LED. – Dory Johnson
